Conn-Selmers 380v series is a stand-out hero in the 'intermediate' saxophone market, both the brass and bronze versions of the 380v alto are incredibly well built with a very broad dark tone that's perfectly suited to a wide variety of playing styles.
Suprisingly the bronze 380v seems to have a slightly brighter, more vibrant core than it's 'all brass' counterpart (but still a very dark instrument) this might have something to do with it having metal reflectors and not plastic like the brass 380v ......cue the never ending reflector debate.
