(Used) Pierret 'Vibrator' Tenor Sax circa 1920s
Product Details
What a fine example of a rather interesting saxophone!
In fantastic physical condition for it's age and with a fresh set of pads it's in tip top playing condition
Made sometime in the 1920s by French manufacturer Pierret, the 'vibrator' seems to be a more upmarket model from their 'standard' model at the time
You may not have read much about Pierret but they were a reputable manufacturer in their day, making stencil horns for some better known brands
Despite having slightly primitive ergonomics by today's standards, the horn is as mechanically playable as some of it's more popular American counterparts from the same era, and the sound.....is FANTASTIC!
Shockingly good intonation, although it's quite sensitive to mouthpiece position on the cork, but once I'd figured out the sweet spot it was bang in tune all the way across the range.
