Almost every great saxophone mentor suggests that students should spend some regular time practising using the mouthpiece alone, although this is a great technique to help develop embouchure and tone, the ear-splitting sound it produces is far from pleasant for those around you.

The Mouthpiece Silencer is designed to give players a way to practise only using their mouthpiece at low volume by using very portable device.

Perfect for travelling musicians or players who want to continue their practise beyond the hours reasonable in most domestic situations.

“The world is full of surprises, people come up with something for everything. I have always told my students that when they practise on the mouthpiece alone (the first thing every day), be sure that no one they like is close because the sound is beyond description. But Jazzlab has come up wth a solution making this very important exercise doable in almost every situation. Great invention!!” - David Liebman
